Importing a script
Use a searchable PDF exported from your screenwriting app. Open it in Files and check that you can select the dialogue. An image-only scan needs text recognition before import.
Choose On device to read the PDF locally. Pro Reader sends extracted screenplay text to OpenAI and requires Pro or Ultra. Keep Action open until it finishes. Check the scene headings, character names and dialogue before rehearsing. Try a short extract if a particular layout fails.
The reader is silent, or misses my cue
Turn up media volume and check where sound is playing. Disconnect unexpected Bluetooth headphones or speakers.
For line matching, allow Microphone and Speech Recognition in iPhone or iPad Settings. Choose the speech language that matches the script and try a quieter room. Generated voices need an internet connection; the standard Apple reader uses device voices.
Live Scene Partner will not start
Live rehearsal requires Action Ultra, an internet connection and microphone access. Check your remaining Live minutes in the app.
Ultra includes 120 Live minutes per subscription month. If a session reaches its limit, check the allowance before restarting. If a session fails, note the message and the time it happened so support can investigate.
Recording and saving a self-tape
Allow Camera and Microphone when you want to record. Check your frame and sound with a short test take.
Review the recording before sharing. Save to Photos asks for permission to add the video to your library. Free includes one saved take per scene, up to three per script; Pro includes unlimited takes. Save or share recordings you want to keep before deleting the app.
Purchases, trials and restoring access
Use Restore Purchases in Action with the Apple Account that bought the subscription. Check that the subscription is active in Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions.
Pro and Ultra renew monthly unless cancelled. Eligible subscribers may receive a three-day trial; Apple shows the available offer and renewal price before purchase. Deleting Action does not cancel a subscription. Manage or cancel it through Apple Account settings. For a refund request, visit Apple’s reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your scripts, recordings and privacy
On-device import keeps your PDF on your device. Online import, generated voices, scene notes and Live rehearsal send the relevant content to the providers named in our privacy policy. Title artwork sends your chosen headshot to OpenAI. Use only scripts and images you have permission to process.
New server audio and analysis copies expire after 30 days. When a server audio copy expires, generate the voice again from your local script. Recordings saved on your device are separate from these server copies.
Version 1.8.2 adds an online-processing permission check and a Delete my server copies button in Settings, then About. The deletion button covers copies made by that installation with version 1.8.2 or later. Stop Live rehearsal before resetting permission or deleting copies. If you reinstall Action, lose the installation secret or need help with older copies, contact support.
Deleting a local project does not delete provider records. For a privacy request, email support@insanerabbit.com with the relevant identifier or approximate date. We may need enough information to verify ownership, but will never ask for your Apple password. Avoid attaching confidential scripts unless we specifically need them.
What to include in a support request
Tell us your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, Action version, and the steps that led to the problem. Include the exact error and a screenshot with personal or confidential details hidden.
For a purchase issue, tell us which plan is affected and whether Restore Purchases helped. Never send your Apple password, payment card details or offer codes. Contact support@insanerabbit.com for app help or privacy requests.
